a The WEEE Directive indicates that producers are financially responsible for “at least” the collection of WEEE from collection-point onwards, leaving room for
extended responsibility on municipalities, distributors or producers to finance the collection points for households e.g. via take-back schemes, storage
points.
b S1 - Finance WEEE collection, treatment etc. of their own products being placed on the market post 13 th August 2005.
S2 - Allocation of financial responsibility is via their current market share.
S3 - Producers that are members of an approved body are exempt from individual financial responsibility.
c R1 - Producer responsible when replacing old-for-new. Otherwise end-user is responsible.
R2 - The end-user is responsible for financing B2B WEEE.
