Working Draft8.2.3 <strong>Navy</strong> <strong>Cash</strong> Card Limitsa. Individual Cardholders(1) A $400 daily maximum limit has been pre-set on funds transfers from anindividual’s bank or credit union account to his/her <strong>Navy</strong> / Marine <strong>Cash</strong> account.(2) No more than $1,000 can be loaded on the e- purse.b. Merchant Cardholders(1) For merchants who settle to bank or credit union accounts, a $5,000 dailymaximum limit has been pre-set on funds transfers from the bank or credit union account to the<strong>Navy</strong> / Marine <strong>Cash</strong> account.(2) No more than $9,999.99 can be loaded on the e-purse. This limit preventspurchases of $10,000 or larger on the ship in a single payment. For example, a CV/CVNwardroom treasurer pays a monthly food invoice to the general mess that can be as much as$30,000. In a situation like this, the shipboard merchant can elect to make more than onepayment with the organization’s <strong>Navy</strong> <strong>Cash</strong> card or simply pay by check.c. Modifying <strong>Navy</strong> <strong>Cash</strong> Card Limits(1) These individual and merchant cardholder limits can be modified for particularaccounts by the Disbursing Officer through the <strong>Navy</strong> <strong>Cash</strong> application (see paragraph 8.4.22,Account Information Update) or the <strong>Navy</strong> <strong>Cash</strong> Center web site (see paragraph 8.14 andAppendix E) or by contacting the Customer Service Center (CSC) (see paragraph 8.14).(2) Any updates to card limits done through the <strong>Navy</strong> <strong>Cash</strong> application are effectiveimmediately on board the ship and will regulate any subsequent funds transfer requests thecardholder attempts at the K80 <strong>Cash</strong>less ATM. Updates done through the <strong>Navy</strong> <strong>Cash</strong> Center website do not go into effect on board the ship until a round trip is completed between ship andshore. Updates done through the CSC do not go into effect on board the ship until the CSCreceives the information, processes the request, and a round trip is completed between ship andshore.(3) For individual cardholders, reducing the maximum amount that can betransferred from a bank or credit union account ashore and/or reducing the maximum amountthat can be loaded on the chip are options available to discipline a cardholder who continues tohave problems with negative account balances or other personal financial responsibilities.8.2.4 <strong>Navy</strong> <strong>Cash</strong> Card Expirationa. <strong>Navy</strong> <strong>Cash</strong> cards expire three years from the initial date of issue. The actualexpiration date is the last day of the month indicated in the “Valid Thru” date embossed on thefront of <strong>Navy</strong> <strong>Cash</strong> permanent and temporary cards and the date printed on the back of the <strong>Navy</strong><strong>Cash</strong> visitor cards.
