Card Activation for Permanent CardsFor security reasons and to prevent fraud, permanent <strong>Navy</strong> <strong>Cash</strong> cards are delivered tothe ship in a “pendactive” status and must be activated before they will work. Occasionally, acardholder will come to disbursing to report a card that no longer works, when, in fact, the cardhas never been activated. For example, the cardholder may have been given a new permanent<strong>Navy</strong> <strong>Cash</strong> card just as he or she was leaving a previous ship, and the card was not activated atthe time. Because the card does not work, the cardholder will not be able to do a ship check-inuntil the card has been activated.(1) Cardholder Activates Card at K80 <strong>Cash</strong>less ATM(a) A cardholder can activate a new, “pendactive” permanent <strong>Navy</strong> <strong>Cash</strong> card atthe K80, as long as there is no other active card associated with the account.
