Smith), as well as BBC Breakfast and ITV This Morning in June and
August 2007 respectively.
Suggested directions for future research might include a closer
comparison of the type of physical and psychological symptoms of
gestational women and their male partners, and the relationship
between male personality types and the syndrome. Further
investigation might also question whether this syndrome is
exclusive to men only or might it also include women? Achieving
this would include assessment of the equivalence of pregnancyrelated
symptoms and their duration among cohabiting lesbian
couples where one becomes pregnant through surrogacy or
otherwise, where no research has been done before, and/or
between twin sisters as evidenced in only one case-study to date by
Budur et al, (2005).
