The following lorddiips, though within the Circle of the Upper-Rhine^
have neither vote nor feat in its Diets.
The Lordßjip of S c h a u m b u r g.
This lordflaip, which lies on the Labn oppofite the county of Holzapfeh
is to be feen in the maps of the lower county of KatzcjieUnboge?i, belonging
to the principality of Nq/Jau and others. In the year 1279, it paffed fromi
the houfe of Limburg on the Lahn to that of Weßerburg; but in 1656
Agnes countefs dowager of Holzapfel purchafed it of Count George IVilliam
of Leini?igen-Weßerburg, redeemed it from feudal fubjedlion to Cullen,
and fettled it as an abfolute property on her daughter Elizabeth Charlotta^
confort to Adolphus Prince of Najpiu-Dillenburg, and with their daughter
Charlotta it devolved to her hufband Prince Lebrecht of Anhalt-Bcrnburg-
Hoym, whofe defcendants are flill in poffeffion of it. Its Imperial aflellment
is two florins forty kruitzers ; and to the chamber at Wetzlar it pays
feventy-four rix-dollars, but is without fo much as a vote in the Diet of the
Circle. To it belongs
Schauwburg, a feat on a high hill' not far from the Lahn.

T7je Lordßjip ö/'Oberstein.
"Which lies on the Himfruck along the Nahe. Its prefent owner is the
count of Leiningen-Dachsbutg-Heideßoeim, and its afleffment on the matricula
of the Empire is feven florins. To the chamber at Wetzlar it pays ten
rix-doilars feventy-three kruitzers. The principal place in it is
Gberßein, a little town fituate on tlie Nahe. On a mountain alfo ftands a
caftie.
Holzhaußn, a village on the Ohm betwixt the Heffian prefedurates of
Marburg and Homburg and the upper prefedurate of Amoneburg, and belonging
to the Eledorate of Mentz, ftands in the matricula at one florin
thirty kruitzers.
Obf. The Gorz branch of the houfe of Schlitz, who were formerly admitted
among the immediate nobleflTe of the Empire, in the year 1742 folicited
a feat and vote among the eftates of the Circle of the Upper-Rhine,
but met with a denial,
