6. The domain and farm oi Rohr, fituated a quarter of an hour's diftance
from the above-mentioned village of Rohr under the prefedlurate of Kuhn^
dorf, and formerly a nunnery. Near the old cloyfter-building here ftands
a fmall church.
II. The ducal houfe of Saxe-TVeimar is poflefied of
1. The old Weimar fliare, which confifts of the prefedurate of Ilmenau,
and comprizes in it
Ilmenau., a fmall mine-town, feated on the Ihn, hard by the T'hurhigian
wood, which formerly belonged to the Counts of Kerfenbcrg, by whom
it was difpofed of in 1343 to the Counts oi Henneberg for the fum of 2000
marks of fine filver, and by the latter for fome time mortgaged to the
Counts of Schisjarzburg, till at length, after many revolutions, it came again
to Henneberg. In the years 1603 and 1624 this place fuftained great damage
by fire, and in 1752, together with the caflle and arfenal, was entirely
burnt down, excepting fix houfes which flood in the fuburbs. The
mine-office has the infpedion of the copper and filver-mines here, but thefe
were formerly much more confiderable than at prefent. The Latin fchool
here is of no confideration.

2. That part which formerly conflituted the fliare of Saxe-Eijenach^
namely,
1. The prefcdurate of Lichtenberg, or Ostheim. To which
belongs

Lichtenberg, a mountain-citadel, which, in the year 1525, was laid
by the peaf^nts.
Ojiheim vor der Rhone, a fmall town, receiving its furname from the
mountain of Rhone, which extends itfelf from Helpers on the Vlfler quite
beyond Bifchofsßmm. In this town, as co-heirs and noblemen, refide the
Lords of Stein, Altenßein, Fehde, Manfiach, Thann, &c. In it alfo is an
infpedion-office which has the care of the parifhes belonging to it.
Helmerß:aiijen, a market-town, feated on the at// below the old caflle
of Hutsbcrg. At this place alfo is a free farm, called the farm or feat of
Henneberg, which has always been confidered as an appendage to the caftle
of that name, for which reafon it flill belongs to the Duke of Saxe-
Meinungen.

2. The prefedlurate of Kalten-Nordheim, in which is
KalteJi-Nordheim, a market-town, containing an old caftle called Zur
Meerlinjen, and lying on the FfA/i?. In the year 1634 this place was fet
on fire by the Croats^ and almofl: wholly reduced to aflies.
