6. The bailiwick of Fursteneck, in which is
Furßeneck,
a citadel.
Eyterfeld, an ancient church-village, which Abbot üz/^'^ T. obtained, in
the year 846, of the Emperor Lewis. To the parilli-church here belong
the filial churches of Leibolz, JVoelf, Afzelly Leijnbach, Steinbach, Upper
and Under UJhufen,

Great-Dafft, a village, containing a parifh-church, to which belong the
churches of Soifdorf znd TreiJJeld.
7. The bailiwick of Geyss, in which is
Geyfs, a little town, feated on the river UIßer. This place was a town
as early as the beginning of the fourteenth century. Near it, on a high
mountain, formerly flood the citadel of Rockenßul.

Geifmar, a village, having a parifla-church, to which belongs the filial
church of Ketten.
Spala,
a church village.
Rafdorf, anciently Rateßhorp, a village containing a collegiate-church, to
which belong the filial churches of Griiffclbacb and Kirch-hafel. On a
neighbouring mountain ftands the chapel of Gehiilfesberg.
Borfch,
a church-village.
Bicttlar, a church-village, where the family of Buttlar hold a citadel in
fief of the foundation of fz^A/fZ. On a mountain hard by it lies St. MichaeFs
Chapel. To the parilli-church of Buttlar belongs the filial-church
of Wenigeji-Daft.
Brehmen, a village, to whofe parifli-church belongs the filial-church of
Bernbach.
Schleyta, a village, containing a parifii-church, to which belong the filialchurches
o^ Motzlar,
Zitters and (Zraluck.
8. The bailiwick of Fischberg was mortgaged to one half, by the
foundation in the year 1455, to the counts of Hetvieberg ; and, in 1460,
the other half was mortgaged to Fritz of T^hann ; but, by this laft, in the
year 1468, to Count William of Henneberg. To his fons, George Erneji
and Boppo^ the mortgage was renewed, in the year 1551, by the fjundation
of Fulda, for their lives. After their deceafe, which happened in
1574 and 1583, the foundation of i^z/A/ß indeed annulled the mortage; but,
in i594> renewed it to the houfe of Saxony for thirty-one years ; but, after
the expiration of this term, the foundation could not attain the releafe of
the bailiwick, this not coming to pafs till the years 1705 and 1707 ; when
alfo the undifturbed enjoyment of all their religious privileges were fecured
by the foundation of Fulda to the Protefi:ant churches and inhabitants : but,
as in the year 1741, the princely line of Eifenach became extinft, and all
their lands, together with their immunities, fell to Ernefi Augiijlus, duke
of Saxe-Weymar, this laft looked upon himfelf as privileged to take poffeliion
of all the hereditary fubjedts, rents, incomes, eftates, taxes, high and low
