II.
Into the circle of Pj'izwalk, containing in it fifty-fix villao-es.
We (hall
remark here,
1. Prizwalk, an immediate town, featcd on the Domnifz and containing
a fpirltual infpedion. In the year 1642, one half of this pLice was burnt
down. In 1654, it again fuffered confiderable damage by the fame dreadful
calamity.
2. Zum heiligen Grabe, a cloyfter, containing one abbefs and twentyfeven
ladies.
3. Marienflies, or Sfepenitz, alfo a cloyfter for fix ladies.
4. Freienjiein, a fmall town of one hundred and fixteen fire-places, and
belonging to the Lords of Wintei-feld, In the year 171 8, this place was
wholly deftroyed by fire. Near it grows the fmall turnep in great plenty.
Not far from hence alfo rifes the Stepenitz.
5. Meienburg, a fmall town, belonging to the Lords of Rohr, and containing
in it about one hundred burghers. In the year 1574, one half of
this place was deftroyed by fire. Not far from it rifes the river Do^.
6. Putlitz, a fmall town, which is the original place of the GaJife, who
arelikewife Lords of Putlitz; and under their jurifdidlion it ftill continues.
Jn it is a fpiritual infpedion. In the years 1684 and 169 1, Putlitz was
almofl entirely deftroyed by fire.
7. Grabow, a village, belonging to the Lords of that name.
8. Frehne, Burghagen, Scho?ihagen, and other places, all the property of
the Lords of Burghagen.
III. Into the circle of Kyritz^ which contains in it twenty-four
villages.
In this circle we fhall
remark,
1 . Kyj-itz, an immediate town, fituated on the rivulet of Ja^elitz, and
containing a fpiritual infpedion. This place is very confiderable for its
agriculture. In the years 1562, 1622, 1636 and 1674, it fuffered great
damage by fires. To the magiftracy here belong fome adjoining lakes ; as,
namely, the Bork lake, which begins at the village of Bork, and near Karnzau
is called the lake of Karnzau, or the Sdz; and the Great, or Stolp lake.
The three which pafs under thofe names are called the Upper Lakes, and
have a communication with the Under Lake by means of a canal. At tlie
latter alfo lies the village of Bautikau.
