fliould be negligent in this point, or refufe to abide by the determination of
the arbitrators, the houfe of Erbach (Lould be entitled to redeem the borough
with its appendages, on paying down the redemption money, &c.
Rem. The houfe of Lowoißein-JVertheim is alfo poffeifed of the county
o^ Lowenßciti under the jurifdidlion of the Duke oi Wurteinherg, (fee above>
p. 214, as likewife of the feigniories oi Chajfepierfe, Cugrion, Herbemojit.,
Fi'ullr, Orgeo, HavrcJJe, Hation, and of one third of Neucbateau in the
dutchy of Luxemburg, (fee Vol. iv. p. 280 ;) as alfo of the county of Fimenburg
in the circle of Wejlphalia, (fee Vol. iv. p. 484 ; and the feveral feigniories
in Bohemia^ as namely Heyde and Altjattel, both which lie in the
Pilfner circle, &c. together with feveral places belonging to the eftates
of the immediate nobility of the Empire,

THE
county of jR.'V;;e'f^ (not 'Reineck) is environed by the archbifhopric
of Meniz, the county of Ha?!au, and the bifhopric of Wurzburg being
fituated on what is called the Spejzharf. This county had anc'ently
fome confiderable Counts of its own, who held their eftates in fief of toe
Eledtor of Mentz, the bifhopric of Wurzburg, and the Eledor-palatuie.
Their line became extindl in 1559 in the perfon of Count Philip, ujjon
which the county was divided as follows : that is to fay, the bidiopric oi Wurzburg
refumed its fiefs, which confifted of the prefedlurates of Rothenfels,
Schonrain, and Aura in the Sinnegrund, already mendoned. But the prefedlurate
of Wildenßein, or cantred of Eßhau, a palatine fief, was ct Ld ift
property by the Eledor-palatine in the year 1560 to the Counts oi Erbach

and the reft of this county fell to the archbifhopric of Menfz, which firft
fettled a part of it on Margaret, of the houfe of Erbach, reliä; to the laft
Count thereof, but afterwards difpofed of the faid part in fief, in the year
1673, to Count John Hartwig of Noflitz, and in 1684 one half alfo of the
Biebergrund, together with a fourth of the little town of Rieneck, and
