Gunzburg^ a market-town, deriving its charter from the Emperoi
Rupert, in the year 1407 ; and, together With Leibenthan, conftituting one
lordflfip.
Dictmanfried, a market-town, created fuch by the Emperor Rudolph IL
in the year 1586.

Rotenfteim, a feat and lordfliip. The feat of Calde and the village of
Jttehburg, together with the lordfliip of Gromnbach and all their eftates,
in Algau, whether feudal or hereditary, were, by the counts of Pappenbeim,
who arrived to the pofleflion of them on the extiniftion of the landgraves
of -S/z^'//«^^«, in 1686, transferred to the abbey in 1692, in ccnfideration
of the fum of 65,000 florins. The town of Gronenbach, or Gruneniach,
is a confiderabie place, with a market and Proteftant church in it, of
which Zurch tn]oys the right ot prefentation . Clofe by the town, on a
hill, is a conventual church of Catholics, as alfo the feat of Gruneiibach.
Teijfelberg, or Deijjelberg, together with Hetzlinßdofen and Erbißojfen,
are two foundations of nobles conftituting one lordlhip ; which, together
with Gronenbach, are now fallen to the abbey. The inhabitants of Erblß:ojen
are Proteftants, and have a pariih-church, the paftor of which is recommended
by Zurch; and the Catholics alfo have a church in the hamlet
of Lachen.
Legau, a market- town, created fuch in the year 1485 by the Emperor
Frederick III.
Hohenthan, a feat with villages and diflridls belonging to it ; as, namely,
Mutmarßofen, Kimbratzhofen, JViggensbach, Frauenzell, 6cc. which were all
purchafed by Abbot John of Reiiheim, in the fifteenth century, of the family
of Haimenhofen.
Kemnath, a feat and lordfliip annexed to the abbey in the fixteenth century,
by Abbot Wdfgang of Gruncnßein, who purchafed it of Zimprecht of
Benznau, This feat is the refidence of an Intendant.
