Which is alfo divided into two rent-amts or governments.
! . To the rent-amt of Landßnit belongs
Landßut, an open town, fituated on the Ifer, and the capital of the
rcnt-amt. This town is well built, and contains in it an eledloral palace
feÄted on a hill, together with another which ftands in the middle of the
town, and is called the Neuebau or neio -building, as alfo a college with a
church in it, the fteeple of which is reckoned the higheft in Germany ;
a parifli church dedicated to St. Job, a college of Jefuits, three convents of
Monks, and the like number containing Nuns. Landjhut was built either
by Duke Leivii of Bavaria, or his father Duke Otto of Mittehhach. In
1634 it fuffered from the Sivedes.
Oa the further fide of the Jfer {lands Seligenthal, an abbey of Cißercain
Nuns.
2. The Pfleggericht of Aerding, containing in it
Aerding, or Erding, a fmall town on the little river Sempt, in a country
which produces the beü: grain in all Lciver-Bavaria. In the year 1632
ihe greateft part of this town was fet on fire by the Swedes^ and in 1648
entirely laid in adies by them.
Wartenberg, a market-town containing a caftle, feated on the river Strong,
Old and Neiv-Fraiwhofon, lordfliips, in favour of w^hofe immediate
dependence on the Empire fentence was pafTed by the Imperial chamber
in the year 1701, but in oppofition to this the Eledlor of Bavaria had
recourfe to the remedium revifwnis. To thefe lordlTiips belong
Old-Fraunhofcn, a caftle and market-town, feated on the little river
of Vtls.

Fifty-three cables, noble feats, and kofmarkte, as namely Adorf, Aeß,
Euting, Frauenberg, Gankofen, Kopfsburg, Old and Lang-Preifzing, Upper
and Lcwer-Peuibach, Taufkirch, Vilßeim, Wafen-'Tegernbach^ &c.
