of the Empire and the circle is forty-three florins, and to the chamber
at Wetzlar he pays eighty-onerulhlers, fourteen kruitzers and a half. Near
the convent of Trjee is a village. The pariflies belonging to this abbey
are Schlingen, Ketterfchwang-, Baijziveil, Egge?tthal, Lauchdorf , Ingenried and
Fforzen.
T'he Abbey of
U R S P E R G.
The Framonßratenßan abbey of Urfperg, within the diocefe oi Augsburg,
lies betwixt the rivers Kaniblach and Mindel, near their conflux, where
they run into the Danube. This abbey was founded in the year 1 125, and
•was at firft only a priory, but, in the year 1349, was created an abbey.
The title of its abbot is, Moft noble lord-prelate of the mofl holy Roman
Empire, lord of the refpecftable and Imperial abbey of Urfperg, generalvicar
and vifitor of the holy order of Prcemonßrateiißam throughout Sivabia,
Alface and the country of the Grifons. In the Diet of the Empire he fits
among the prelates of Sivabia betwixt the abbots of Peterjlaujen and Roth.
In the circle of Swabia his feat and vote are betwixt Trfee and Kayferßmm.
In the tnatricula of the Empire and circle he is at prefent afleflTed at thirty
florins, and to the chamber of Wetzlar he pays thirty-two ruthlers, forty-two
kruitzers and a half.
Appertaining to this abbey are the villages of Langen-baßach, Pilhaufen
and Cell.

the year 1 135, hy Count Hcjiry of Lechfgemunde, with this prefcription, that
the fon of the BlefTed Virgin fliould he its only patron and proteflor ;

calamities of the times made it further advifable, in the year 1274, to foUicit
the protedlion of King Rudolphm ; in 1346, that of the Emperor Lewis of
Bavaria; and, in the year 1349, that of Stephen, Pfalzgrave of the Rhi?ie
