2. The prefedurate of Michelstadt.

the moft confiderable place in the whole county, is a ftiiall
but ancient town, formerly containing a provoftlhip which belonged to
the cloyller of Lorfih. At this place lies the common regency of Erbach,
as likev/ife their common fuperintendency. Clofe by the town is an ironfoandery.

Bullau, a vill;ige, with a chapel in it, is incorporated into one parilh with
Michclßüdi.
Euknhach, or Eidhach, is an ancient place, which was formerly a fmall
village, but is at prefent only a feat belonging to the family.
Stockheim and Zell-, formerly called alfo MangoUs Zell, are likevvife ancient
villages.
3. The prefeäurate of Freienstein, or the upper-cantred, belonging to
the line of Erbach-Furßenau. In it is
Freie?ißeln, a citadel, fortified in the ancient tafte and feated on a mountain
named the Wcckherg, which is in mofl places very fteep and lies on the
borders of the palatinate.
Berfelden, formerly called Buerfelden, Baiierfelden, or Baycrfelden^ a
parochial-village and an ancient place.
Gammehhach, a village, in which are iron-founderies.
Hejfelbach, a village, over which the abbot of Amorbach appoints judges.
Schellnbach, a village, containing a chapel and an iron-foundery.
Senfzbach, a village, which is divided into the Upper and Lower Senjzbcich.
Exclufive of eight other places.
4. The prefedturate ot Furstenau: containing
Furflenau, an old citadel, feated in the Plumgau, or Blumenaii, which is
alfo called the RojenthaU and is a fief of the Eledor of Mentz. Near this
place is
a furnace for the fmelting of iron.
Sfeinbach, a village, having an iron-work and forge, and formerly alfo
eontaining a nunnery.
Gufersbacb, an old village, formerly containing a parilh-church.
HilterßUngcn, a village, one half of which is fimply called HilterßUngen,
but the other HilterJkUngen on the Hort. The for.iier of thefe, with all its
rights and emoluments, belongs to the houfe of Erbach ; but the latter to
the archbiiliopric of Mentz, and therein to the upper prefedurate of Starkmberir;
notwithftanding which Erbach is poflelTed in it of the government
and criminal-jurifdidion.
