The reigning Prince of HohenzoHern-Sigmari}igen poflefles,
1. The county of Sigmari?2ge?2, which on the extindion of the counts of
Werderiberg efcheated to the empire, and was conferred by the Emperor
Charles V. on the houfe of Hohenzollern, for which reafon the houfe of
Außria claims the fovereignty of it. To it belongs
Sigmari?igen, the Prince's refidence, which lies on the Danube.
The parochial villages of Sigmaringe?:, Krancbenwifai^ Haufen and Langen-
Enßingen.
Habßally a nunnery of Dominicans.
Laitz and Gornheim, nnnntx\t% of Francißans.
Inzhoßen, an Augußine nunnery.
Bingen, a village, the greateft part of which belongs to the houfe of
Hornftein, but the houfe of HohenzoUern-Sigmaringen enjoys the criminal
and forefl: jurifdidlion, and likewife the fovereignty of the roads.
Obf. The prefent ftate of the county of Voringen or Veringen, has been
briefly exhibited in vol. iv. in the territories belonging to the houfe of Auflria
in Swabia. The Princes of Hohenzollern bear it in their title. But the
line of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen enjoys as fiefs under Außria the parochialvillages
of Voringen, lying near the town ofthat name; together with Benzingen
and Harthaufen auf der Scheer.
2. The lordfliips of Haigerloch and Wohrftein, conftituting an upper-amf,
or government. Thefe anciently belonged to the counts of Hohenberg, from
whom they devolved to the houfe of Auftria, which towards the clofe of
the 15th century exchanged it with that of Hohenzollern for the lordfliip of
Rakunz. To it belong
Haigerloch., a fmall town feated on the little river of Eyach, with
