Hochß, or Hotft, a populous borough with a Proteftant parirti-church ia
it, lying on the river Mumling, and tbrmerly containing a Benedi£line nunnery,
which flood under the infpedlion of Fulda. This place belonged
to the Eledor-palatine,
Gruwbach, Criunpach, or ATumling-Grumbach, a village, which had anciently
Lords of its own, but which probably belonged to the Brcuberg
line. This place takes its furname from the river Mumling, on which it
ftands.
Kircb-Brambach, otherwife called Braubach or Branbach, a parochialvillage
with a Proteftant church in if, and formerly containing a citadel.
Belljiein, or Beilftcin, a village.
Seckmcmern, a vi.lagc with a church in it, which had formerly a curate
of its own, but is now incorporated into one parifh with that of
Vielb?-im,
a parochial-village.
8. The prefeäurate of Little-Heubach, or Heibach, alfo called
Heidbach, which has its feat in the market-town of that name, lying on
the river Mayn, and being well-built and inhabited. In this town is a
citadel, and in 1753
horfes and cattle. Heubach was difpofed of by the Counts of Erbach in
it obtained the right of holding yearly two fairs for
the year 1721 to Prince Dominicus of Lo'wenjtein-Wa-theijn, but on condition
that on the extinöion of his male hne the place Ihould revert
gratis to it in the ftate it fhould then happen to be, no account of any
charges for its improvement or other expences being to be brought to the
male heirs of the houfe Erbach at fuch time extant ; and that in cafe the
female defcendants of Lö'Zi'c';7//f/>;-/^fr//j«w fliould oppofe it, the male line
of Erbach fliould be entitled of their own authority, and that without any
judicial proceedings, to enter upon pofTefTion of the Ejcheat. But if
the male line of Erbach fliould drop firft, and after them alfo the male
line of Lowenßein, that in fuch cafe the daughters of both fides or their
heirs were to divide Little-Heibach among tbem in fuch manner that the
heirs of each line Oiould obtain one half thereof. The ProtePant fubjetts
were to be in no wife aggrieved in the exercife of thtir religion, nor the
Simultaneum to be introduced into the paiifh-church there, and neither in
nor near the borough any Roman- czlhoWc chapel to be built, but the
princely houfe was to confine the exercife of the 7?' »z«7-catholic religion,
both for itfelf, its court, and officers, to the limits of the citadel. The
Proteftant curate was to be appointed by the princely houfe, hut the perfon
fo pitched upon was to be referred for examination to the confifiory of
Erbach, and on obtaining from thence a gocd teftimony to be confecrated
and prefented by one or two curates out of the feigniory of Breubcrg. That
