which had fallen to ruins ; and Bilhop Otio, in the year 1552, founded an
univerfity here, in which is alfo a college of fecular canons, as likewife one
of Jefuits, together with a convent of Capuchins and two nunneries.
To the bailiwicks of Dil/iagen particularly belong the following
with a bailiwick over each ;

the little river of Siifam lies the BenediSline convent of Fultenbach, which
belongs to the dioceie of Augsburg, and was founded in the year 730.

Not far from the feat of Killenthal ftands the Benedictine monaftery of
Holz, or the monaßerium S. Johannis Baptißa inßlvä.

which runs into the Danube. In it

7. The prefedurate of Bobingen, fituate betwixt the rivers Wertach
and Lech.
Obf. In thefe parts to the fuperintendency of the reads belong the villages
of Goggingen, Inningen, Balingen, Mehringen, Ailingen, Menchingen,
Erlingen, and others.
8. The prefedurate of Schwabmünchen, alfo fituate betwixt the two
abovementioned rivers, in a diftrid called Lechfeld. Belonging to it is
Schicahmmchen, a market- town, famous for its cotton ftockings.
9. The prefedurate of Buchloe, lying along the rivulet of Gcbnach,
which runs into the Werbach. This prefedurate contains
a market-town.
