Not far alfo far from TfuUingcji flood the caftle of Achalm, which efcheating
to the Empire on the exiinftion of the counts oi Achalm, and was by the
Emperor Lewis, in the year 1330, conferred on Count Ulrich o'i Wurtemberg;
yet did the lords oi Rietbcj?n iceep pofiefTion of it till the year 12,7'^,
when they fold it to Count Eberhard of J-Vurtemberg. In the conventual
manor of Pfullingen lies the parifh of Genkingers.
45. The town and diftricl of Weimberg. In it
Weimherg, a town fituate in the ancient country of the Sulma}2agau,ox Suhn^
gau ; a part confitis in a round hill, on which alfo ftands a ruined caflle :
The other part lies in a valley. In it is alfo a fpecial fuperintendency. Tiiis
place is faid to have been befieged in the year 1 140 by the Emperor Conrad.
In 1400 it belonged to the lords of /FwVw/^fr^, from whom it devolved to
the Pfalz-^raves of they^Z^'/.Y. In 1504, Ulrich duke of Jfurfe^nbcrg made
himfelf mafter of it, and the conquefl thereof was confirmed by the Eniperor
Maximilian I. Afterwards, in the peafants war, this place fiding
with the rebellious boors, it was entirely laid in afhes by the Siuabiait
confederacy. In the year 1707 the greacefl part of it was alfo deftroyed
by fire.
Weimberger 'Thai is famous for its excellent wine. Near the town ftood the
nunnery of Liechtenßern ; which in the year 1525 was demohfhcd by the
peafants. To the convent manor belong the parifhes of Upper-Eijzif:eim
and Waldbach.

the chapel of eafe of Bretzjcld, Eberßadt, Eibojen, Horkheim, Siilzbach,
Sabwapach, Wildfpach, Wußen-roth ; to the laft of which belongs, among

46. The town and diflridl of Neuftadt. In it
Ncußadt, a town fituate in the ancient Kochergau on the river Kocher, which
here receives the river Brettach. This town contains a palace and a fpecial
fuperintendency. In the year 1444 it belonged to the lords of Weimberg-,
but in 1483 to the Eledtor Palatine; and in 1504, during the Palatinate war
was conquered by the houfe of Wurtetnberg. By a compadt agreed upon
among the brothers this place fell to the fhare of Duke Achilles ; but on the
failure of the Neußadt branch devolved again to the reigning family.
The difirid oiNeißadt contains a part of the ancient Kochergau and Brettachgau,
and confifls of the parifhes of Brettach^ Gochßn, Klever-Sulzbachy
and Kocher-Steinsßeld.

Mechnubl, a town fituate in the ancient Jaxfgau on the river Jaxt.
This place was in being fo early as the year Soo. Afterwards it belonged to
the lords of Hohenlohe, and in 1445 the Pfalzgrave Lewis is faid to have
purchafed it of them. During the Palatinate war in the year 1504, Ulrich
Dukeof/^Twr/fWi^fr^ took the town. In 1521 the Emperor Charles tranfferred
