2. Herricden, originally named Hafenried, a fmall town, feated on the •
Altmiihl, with a collegiate foundation in it eredled by Charlemagne as a BenediBine
cloyfter, but foon after converted into a collegiate foundation,
which gave occafion to the building of the town. At this place alfo Is a
rural-decanate. In the year 1316, Herrkden was beficged by the Emperor
LewisY. at which time alfo it was taken and deftroyed. In 1450 and
1490, it was confumed by fire, and, in 1633, taken by "D^^kQ Ber7ihard oi
Saxe-Weymar.
3. Aurach, a citadel,, purchafed in the year 1510. In this citadel is a
forefl and amt-office.
Rem. In Upper- Bavaria, the rent-amt of Munich and the adminiftratorycourt
of Riedenburg, the bifhopric of Eichjleit is poflelTed of the feigniory of
FlugeUberg and Hofmark Mayren, which were purchafed by Bifliop John
Antony I. for the fum of 100,000 florins.

§. I. (^F the principality of OWz^/f^, or the fi^are of the marggravate of
^^ Onolzbach, in the burggravate of Nürnberg below the Gebirg, John
George Vetter has delineated a good chart, which was engraved by Michael
Kaiser, but has this remarkable in it, that the territories of both Mar»-
graves are extended quite to the gates of the city oi Nürnberg.
§. 2. This principality terminates on the Vnder-land of Bayreuth, the
bifhopric of Bamberg, the Imperial city of Windjheim, the principality
of Schwarzenberg and the feigniory of Seinßmm, as alfo on^ the bifhopric of
Wurzburg, the county oi Caflell, the territory of the Imperial city of i$ö/'/^t'«-
burg, the counties of Hohenlohe and Limpurg, the territory of the Imperial
city of Swabian Hall, the provoflfhip of Ehvangen, the county of Oettingen-^,
the Imperial city of Dunkeifpuhl, the dutchy of Neuburg, the county of
Pappeiiheim, the Imperial city of Weißenburg, the bifhopric o'i Aichfladty
the feigniory of Pyrbaum and the Upper-Palatinate,
