Abstract
The economic and military bilateral relation between Pakistan-China bilateral relations
have been given more importance in past and its going smooth also in Zardargi‘s regime.
Both administrators make emphasis on economic development in Pakistan resulted in
more economic and military cooperation with China. The Chinese government always
responded positively by show their state to do more business with Pakistan in the wake of
its political and strategic interests in Pakistan and encouraging private sector in same
direction. So last ten-twelve years observed significant increase in bilateral economic
relation reciprocated by political and strategic relations. The article studies the
agreements signed during 1999-2010 and their nature, moreover, volume of trade and
investment between these two countries. The paper concludes that the China playing a
reliable economic and military ally for Pakistan which is working as life blood in the its
developing economy as a source of high technology and direct foreign investment.

1. Introduction
China is one of the oldest friends of Pakistan and strategic partner supporting to stabilize
its economic and military facets of Pakistan. Both countries tied through historical bonds
of relationship and time tested friends. Now China is one of the leading business partners
of Pakistan. They are sharing common borders, mountains and rivers and have settled
their disputes amicably through give and process. Pakistan was the first country which
gives recognition to the people republic of China on 4 th January 1950.
Both the countries have always been sympathizing, understanding and supporting each
other in domestic and international affairs. As President Zaradari said about relations
between Pakistan and China in China in meeting with President Hu Jintao in July 2010,
that ―it is our belief that Pakistan can act as a force multiplier for China and we will
continue to work towards this end.‖ Pakistan‘s stand for china of issues like sovereignty
of china, human rights, Taiwan and Tibet are respected by Chinese
government(Wolfgang, 1975). Pakistan also acknowledges the support of China on the
matters of East Pakistan, Kashmir and Indo Pak wars. China provided Pakistan a credible
assistance in different sectors of the economy while Pakistan facilitated China‘s opening
towards the western counties and the United States and also towards the Muslim counties
which are valuable clients of china trade and commerce today. Pakistan is China's second
