Methodology
From the population of 850 we distribute our questionnaire to 320 employees out of
which 170 questionnaires were completed and returned back to test the emotional
intelligence and its dimensions relation with other variables i.e., job satisfaction, job
performance and team effectiveness. We did non probability convenience sampling. We
distribute our questionnaire to different service and private sectors including: Ufone
telecommunication, Islamabad, Pakistan; Kenwood, Islamabad, Pakistan; Wi-tribe,
Rawalpindi, Pakistan; Huawei technologies, Islamabad Pakistan and DAWN media
group, Islamabad, Pakistan. The supervisor of every department of the company helped
us in filling out the questionnaires.
For the entry of data and results we adopted statistical software SPSS and questionnaire
as an instrument to measure the validity, reliability of the instrument and to find the
regression and correlation among variables. We have used Likert scale (1= strongly
disagree; 5= strongly agree) in our questionnaire enclose with 33 questions. Among these
15 questions was on emotional intelligence from which 5 items were on motivating
emotions, 5 items was on empathy and 5 were on self awareness, the rest of the 18
questions was on team effectiveness, job satisfaction and job performance 6 each. Our
research is pure and explanatory in nature. We have performed correlational study in a
non contrived setting. This is a relationship study so we did parametric testing.
