The <strong>version</strong> <strong>of</strong> article 26 contained in <strong>document</strong> A/AC.254/4/Rev.2 remainedunchanged in the intermediate drafts <strong>of</strong> the convention (A/AC.254/4/Revs.3-5).Canada (A/AC.254/L.114)Canada proposed that the following text should be inserted in article 26 in place<strong>of</strong> the existing text, within square brackets, <strong>of</strong> paragraphs 3, 4 and 5:“3. No reservations may be made in respect <strong>of</strong> any provision <strong>of</strong> <strong>this</strong>Convention.”2Further to the comments <strong>of</strong> delegations highlighted in footnote 1, it should be mentioned that some delegations proposedthat paragraphs 3 to 5 should be placed in a separate article. One delegation proposed for consideration the possibilitythat only some provisions <strong>of</strong> the convention would be subject to reservations. Finally, some delegations noted that theissue <strong>of</strong> reservations could not be decided until the contents <strong>of</strong> the convention had been decided. It was therefore decidedto place paragraphs 3 to 5 in square brackets for the time being.
