At its tenth session, the Ad Hoc Committee considered, finalized and approvedarticle 29, as amended. The last amendments are reflected in the final text <strong>of</strong> the convention,as included in the report <strong>of</strong> the Ad Hoc Committee (A/55/383, sect. IV, draft resolution,annex I), that was submitted to the General Assembly for adoption pursuant toresolution 54/126 <strong>of</strong> 17 December 1999.B. Approved text adopted by the General Assembly(see resolution 55/25, annex I)Article 40Denunciation1. A State Party may denounce <strong>this</strong> Convention by written notificationto the Secretary-General <strong>of</strong> the United Nations. Such denunciation shall becomeeffective one year after the date <strong>of</strong> receipt <strong>of</strong> the notification by the Secretary-General.2. A regional economic integration organization shall cease to be a Partyto <strong>this</strong> Convention when all <strong>of</strong> its member States have denounced it.3. Denunciation <strong>of</strong> <strong>this</strong> Convention in accordance with paragraph 1 <strong>of</strong><strong>this</strong> article shall entail the denunciation <strong>of</strong> any protocols thereto.
