A State Party may denounce <strong>this</strong> Protocol by written notification to theSecretary-General <strong>of</strong> the United Nations. Such denunciation shall become effectiveone year after the date <strong>of</strong> receipt <strong>of</strong> the notification by the Secretary-General.“2. A regional economic integration organization shall cease to be a Party to<strong>this</strong> Protocol when all <strong>of</strong> its member States have denounced it.”Notes by the Secretariat4. Following its approval, at its tenth session, <strong>of</strong> the text <strong>of</strong> the convention againsttransnational organized crime, and in particular its corresponding provision on denunciation,the Ad Hoc Committee considered, finalized and approved article 21 <strong>of</strong> the presentprotocol at its eleventh session without further amendment.
