South Africa suggested that the outcome <strong>of</strong> the protocol, to combat andprevent the illicit manufacturing <strong>of</strong> and trafficking in firearms, ammunition and other related materials, should be added in<strong>this</strong> article (see A/AC.254/5/Add.5).2Addition proposed by Mexico (see A/AC.254/5/Add.1 and Corr.1).3Addition proposed by the United States (see A/AC.254/5/Add.1 and Corr.1), supported by Ecuador, Italy, NewZealand, the Republic <strong>of</strong> Korea, Switzerland and Turkey. South Africa suggested adding the words “combating and preventingillicit manufacturing <strong>of</strong> and trafficking in firearms, ammunition and other related materials” (see A/AC.254/5/Add.5).601
