Raum in den „Memoirs“ ein: Eine besondere Rolle als legendärer Rebell/Revolutionär
nimmt darin Heinrichs Urgroßvater Leopold Haugermann ein, der sich nach
1848 als Wirt in der Slowakei angesiedelt hat. – Der apokalyptische Alptraumdialog
des Urenkels mit dem Urgroßvater bildet das Schlusskapitel der „Memoirs“.
Im Nachlass von RN sind nur wenige – teils fragmentarische – literarische Entwürfe
von Heinrich Neumann aufbewahrt (ÖNB 21.772 bis 21.776), unter anderem eine
„Telephon-Phantasie (The Crazy Wire)“ und Gedichte. Im vorliegenden Text Roberts
ist dessen Bemühen um Anklänge an das Werk des Sohns spürbar.
