Method : Biodegradation of chemicals (including o-toluidine) was tested in aquifer
slurries from a sulfate reducing and a methanogenic site. Aquifer samples
were taken from two sites adjacent to the municipal landfill. o-Toluidine
dissolved in water was added to aquifer slurries at initial concentration of
ca. 0.2 mM. Tests were performed in duplicate and autoclaved aquifer
slurries served as control. Incubation was performed at room temperature
in the dark for 10 months.
Samples were taken immediately after addition of o-toluidine and thereafter
periodically (1 ml removed by syringe).
