control), 3, 8, 24 h; samples from 8 organs: stomach, colon,
liver, kidney, urinary bladder, brain, lung, bone marrow;
evaluation of 50 nuclei/organ
- Control groups: untreated animals
EXAMINATIONS:
- Clinical observations: pharmacotoxic signs until sacrifice
- Organs examined at necropsy: examination of stomach,
colon, liver, kidney, urinary bladder, brain, lung, bone
marrow for changes in size, color, texture
- Histopathological examination was conducted when positive results were
obtained in the alkaline SCG assay therefore a small portion of each organ
was fixed in 10% formaldehyde, dehydrated, and embedded in paraffin.
- Criteria for evaluating results: positive when significant
increase of length of DNA migration, test for significance:
Dunnett test, p 99 %
Result : Stomach, colon, kidney, and urinary bladder were positive in the SCG
assay.
