After passing through the column the water was sampled in fractions, enriched by a factor of 100 and analyzed by HPLC-DAD. Remark : Organic amine adsorption on bentonite is pH dependent. Result : Adsorption increased as pH decreased from approx. pH 7, with an adsorption maximum occurring when solution pH is approx. equal to the pKa of the anilinium ion deprotonation reaction.
