Remark : 2-Nitrosotoluene, N-methyl-o-toluidine and N-formyl-o-toluidine were detected as metabolites and these were considered as intermediates of the detoxification pathway. The experiments were carried out under the same conditions. - The animals were not fed during the holding period and were utilised in experiments within 3 weeks of their receipt.
