radiation hardness, engineering and material sciences that are<br />

required to support the B61 LEP and potential LEPs on the<br />

Savannah River Site<br />

<strong>The</strong> increase in funding supports activities leading to the<br />

replacement <strong>of</strong> <strong>The</strong>rmal Cycle Absorption Process hybrid beds<br />

and starts modernization activities <strong>of</strong> the existing facilities to<br />

support infrastructure initiatives. +5,045<br />

Y-12 National Security Complex<br />

This increase reflects funding to support operations that meet<br />

required minimum-operational levels <strong>of</strong> facilities. <strong>The</strong> funding<br />

will allow continued investments in maintenance and address<br />

aging infrastructure. +25,074<br />

Institutional Site Support<br />

<strong>The</strong> increase reflects $168 million in funding for University <strong>of</strong><br />

California pension payments and expected shortfalls from<br />

contractor supported defined benefit pensions. This increase is<br />

<strong>of</strong>fset by a decrease reflecting an emphasis within ISS to<br />

provide funding for <strong>Department</strong>al assessments and program<br />

costs which benefit the entire nuclear security enterprise. +158,668<br />

Program Readiness<br />

<strong>The</strong> increase in funding supports the Nuclear Criticality Safety<br />

Program’s collaboration with France to begin design <strong>of</strong> a new,<br />

jointly operated unique mixed actinide super prompt critical<br />

solution assembly machine and full operations <strong>of</strong> the Critical<br />

Experiments Facility at the NNSS DAF. +4,871<br />
