<strong>The</strong> increase funds necessary nuclear security enterprise manpower and<br />

specialized equipment to manufacture required NGs (new products)<br />

and detonators, and to complete multi-system surveillance<br />

requirements (laboratory/flight function and destructive testing) for the<br />

stockpile. <strong>The</strong> increase also funds emerging special Use Control<br />

System Studies and manufacturing readiness activities (new tooling,<br />

testers, and product/container acceptance) to support the stockpile life<br />

extension programs. <strong>The</strong> NPR drove additionally required mission<br />

scope and this increase over previous year funding levels results in part<br />

to recover schedule on the nuclear scope <strong>of</strong> the B61 LEP study. +44,741<br />

Research and Development Support<br />

<strong>The</strong> decrease reflects less emphasis on updates to s<strong>of</strong>tware computers<br />

and reduces the amount <strong>of</strong> program management funding. -8,318<br />

Research & Development Certification and Safety<br />

<strong>The</strong> decrease reflects the reallocation <strong>of</strong> funding to higher priorities<br />

including Stockpile Systems activities. -18,161<br />

Management, Technology, and Production<br />

<strong>The</strong> increase funds surveillance activities, including: systems testing,<br />

component testing, analysis, data delivery, and information data<br />

sharing. +4,889<br />

Plutonium Sustainment<br />

<strong>The</strong> decrease reflects the completion <strong>of</strong> the W88 pit build. Efforts for<br />

preparation <strong>of</strong> future planned pit production missions and associated<br />

manufacturing facilities and process modernization activities will be<br />
