Description<br />

Starting in <strong>FY</strong> 2008, funding for <strong>Congressional</strong>ly Directed projects was appropriated as a separate<br />

funding line although specific projects may relate to ongoing work in a particular programmatic area.<br />

<strong>The</strong> <strong>FY</strong> 2009 Omnibus Appropriations Act (P.L. 111-8) included 13 <strong>Congressional</strong>ly Directed projects<br />

within the Weapons Activities appropriation. <strong>The</strong> <strong>FY</strong> 2010 <strong>Energy</strong> and Water Development and<br />

Related Agencies Appropriations Act (P.L. 111-85) included $3,000,000 for one <strong>Congressional</strong>ly<br />

Directed Project in support <strong>of</strong> the Center for Innovation through Computational Simulation and<br />

Visualization, Purdue University, Calumet (IN). For <strong>FY</strong> 2011 and <strong>FY</strong> <strong>2012</strong>, no follow-on funding is<br />

requested.<br />
