Plant Technology<br />

• This increase reflects the ramp up <strong>of</strong> design and development activities<br />

for the OHIO-class replacement submarine reactor plant including<br />

development <strong>of</strong> I&C, plant arrangements and system designs to meet<br />

performance requirements. +21,500<br />

Reactor Technology and Analysis<br />

• This increase reflects continued design and development <strong>of</strong> the OHIOclass<br />

replacement submarine reactor plant core, as well as development,<br />

demonstration and manufacturing <strong>of</strong> core technologies in support <strong>of</strong> the<br />

S8G Prototype Refueling program. This activity supports the delivery <strong>of</strong><br />

an extended life core design for initial fabrication <strong>of</strong> the OHIO-class<br />

replacement submarine propulsion plant as well as ongoing operation <strong>of</strong><br />

the S8G Prototype and related R&D programs beyond 2018. +38,100<br />

Materials Development and Verification<br />

• This increase reflects the continued materials validation work in support<br />

<strong>of</strong> delivering a core and core technologies for the land-based S8G<br />

Prototype and the OHIO-class replacement submarine. +8,000<br />

Evaluation and Servicing<br />

• This decrease reflects a minor reduction <strong>of</strong> environmental remediation<br />

efforts. -4,424<br />

• This decrease reflects administrative savings to be achieved in advisory<br />

and assistance services.<br />

ATR Operations and Test Support<br />

• This increase reflects an inflationary increase to support continued<br />

operations <strong>of</strong> the Advanced Test Reactor. +1,200<br />

• This increase primarily reflects planned increases in capital equipment<br />

procurements <strong>of</strong>fset by decreases in general plant projects. +7,372<br />
