<strong>The</strong> increase in funding is to provide ongoing activities to support<br />

LEPs and the disassembling <strong>of</strong> components from dismantled<br />

weapons including the stabilization and decontamination <strong>of</strong><br />

nuclear material, primarily at Y-12. This increase also supports an<br />

increased workload in material recovery and recycle associated<br />

with increased weapons activities and safety risk reduction<br />

activities. +15,510<br />

Containers<br />

<strong>The</strong> increase results from a slight adjustment to the fabrication <strong>of</strong><br />

newly certified containers for nuclear materials and components. +987<br />

Storage<br />

<strong>The</strong> increase supports increased non-nuclear material disposition<br />

activities at Pantex and increased capabilities to perform<br />

characterization activities on legacy components in storage,<br />

primarily in new pit surveillance techniques. +7,039<br />

Construction<br />

<strong>The</strong> increase in <strong>FY</strong> <strong>2012</strong> funding will support several key<br />

Construction projects at the identified sites.<br />

At LANL, the funding will support achieving 90 percent design<br />

maturity in <strong>FY</strong> <strong>2012</strong> for the Chemistry and Metallurgy Research<br />

Replacement (CMRR) Facility Project, and also funds scope for<br />

the TA-55 Reinvestment Project Phase II and the Transuranic<br />

(TRU) Waste Facility Project.<br />

At Y-12, the funding will support achieving 90 percent design<br />

maturity in <strong>FY</strong> <strong>2012</strong> for the Uranium Processing Facility Project).<br />

Funding will also provide for the start <strong>of</strong> construction <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Nuclear Facility Risk Reduction Project.<br />

At Pantex, funding will support the High Explosive Pressing<br />

Facility (HEPF) Project.<br />
