Naval Reactors’ federal staff directs technical work and provides management/oversight in line with<br />

Naval Reactors’ cradle-to-grave responsibility. This includes oversight <strong>of</strong> two DOE laboratories,<br />

land-based prototype reactor plants, spent fuel management infrastructure, as well as performance <strong>of</strong><br />

design and development work for nuclear fleet operations and future applications. Implementation <strong>of</strong><br />

new projects in <strong>FY</strong> <strong>2012</strong> (i.e., OHIO-class Replacement Submarine, refueling <strong>of</strong> S8G Prototype, and<br />

recapitalization <strong>of</strong> Spent Naval Fuel Handling Infrastructure) will demand increased federal oversight<br />

across the Future Years Nuclear Security Plan (<strong>FY</strong>NSP).<br />

Includes funding for the travel related expenses for federal employees while in authorized travel<br />

status. <strong>FY</strong> <strong>2012</strong> funding supports travel required for the management and oversight <strong>of</strong> the Naval<br />

Reactors Program, in addition to allowable inflationary growth.<br />

Includes provision <strong>of</strong> funds for increases to the Working Capital Fund (WCF). Starting in <strong>FY</strong> 2011,<br />

the WCF includes full funding for the Defense Contract Auditing Agency audits. Funding also<br />

supports procurement <strong>of</strong> supplies, equipment, and services such as consumable <strong>of</strong>fice supplies,<br />

personnel training and pr<strong>of</strong>essional development, IT equipment and maintenance, field <strong>of</strong>fice<br />

clearance investigations, and facilities-related requirement (e.g., utilities, maintenance, etc.).<br />
