The course aims to provide participants with the knowledge, skills and values to<br />

perform competently as pr<strong>of</strong>essional social welfare workers.<br />

Career opportunities<br />

Social welfare workers. A pathway is also available for entry into <strong>Swinburne</strong>'s<br />

Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Social Science (Human Services). Students may also get credits in a<br />

range <strong>of</strong> other higher education courses.<br />

Course duration<br />

Four years part-time.<br />

Structure<br />

The course is delivered over four years part-tirne. The final components <strong>of</strong> the<br />

course can be completed on a full-time basis reducing completion to three years.<br />

one or more years paid or unpaid welfare related work experience. In addition,<br />

applicants are required to demonstrate a level <strong>of</strong> personal maturity and aptitude<br />

for the course.<br />

All applicants are required to attend an information session and interview.<br />
