Managing Information<br />

The purpose <strong>of</strong>this module is to provide competency based training to develop effective<br />

information management skills in the workplace. This module is suitable for<br />

participants who have an established work orientation, and who can perform procedural<br />

and analytical tasks with minimum control. Some participants will come from<br />

workplaces where they already perform tasks without close management and may<br />

have responsibilty for work group performance. On successful completion <strong>of</strong> this<br />

module the participant should be able to obtain, record, evaluate and store information<br />

for action.<br />

Aims & Objectives<br />

effective management <strong>of</strong> operations in manufacturing and service organisations.<br />

The aim <strong>of</strong>the module is to enable participants to acquire and successfully develop<br />

knowledge, skills and attributes associated with operational efficiency and productivity<br />

improvement. These competencies should enable and encourage participants to<br />

maintain effective and efficient delivery systems for quality products and services that<br />

meet clients needs.<br />

On successful completion <strong>of</strong> this module the participant will be able to apply techniques<br />

to monitor and mantain effective and efficient delivery <strong>of</strong> production output and client<br />

knowledge, skills and attributes associated with the effective implementation <strong>of</strong><br />

change. The competencies should enable and encourage participants to recommend or<br />

implement effective change programs and processes in the workplace.<br />

Aims & Objectives<br />

The purpose <strong>of</strong> this module is to provide competency-based training to develop skills in<br />

managing and developing teams, with an emphasis on work teams.<br />

It is suitable for participants who have established work orientation, can perform tasks<br />

under nominal supervision, and more complex tasks, involving theoretical knowledge,<br />

cognitive and motorskills with direction. It is also suitable for participants who have<br />

responsibility for others in a work team situation, graduates or pr<strong>of</strong>essional staff who<br />

desire or need, but are lacking in, managementtraining. On successful completion <strong>of</strong><br />

this module the participants will be able to:<br />

Plan and present strategies, and engage in activities to improve teams and their<br />

performance.<br />

Analyse needs, and plan for self and individual development related to the job role<br />

within a work team.<br />
