and specify typography and other components to industry standards, for printed images<br />

to be prepared using desktop publishing s<strong>of</strong>tware applications. On successful<br />

completion <strong>of</strong> this module, students should be able to:<br />

Employ design elements and principles in the preparation <strong>of</strong> client accepted<br />

layouts for a range <strong>of</strong> printed work.<br />

Control the quality and quantity <strong>of</strong> typography throughout all the phases <strong>of</strong><br />

production and reproduction.<br />

Adopt an approach for the production <strong>of</strong> an electronically generated publication to<br />

a given time scale.<br />

Employ illustration to best effect.<br />

Employ colourto best effect.<br />

Specify, or make allowances for, the method <strong>of</strong> printing and the substrate on<br />
