The purpose <strong>of</strong> this module is to provide an integrated treatment <strong>of</strong>theory and actual<br />
patterns and policies in international business, i.e. international trade, foreign direct<br />
investment and international finance.<br />
Content<br />
Examine patterns <strong>of</strong> international trade during the post-World War II period and<br />
explain why these patterns exist based on international trade theories.<br />
Examine the patterns <strong>of</strong> the foreign trade investment and explain why firms<br />
undertake Foreign Direct Investment (FOI), especially in comparison with<br />
exporting or other kinds <strong>of</strong> international business ventures.<br />
Explain the framework for International Transactions.<br />
Examine issues related to doing business in each <strong>of</strong> three types <strong>of</strong> country:<br />
