Aims & Objectives<br />

The purpose <strong>of</strong>this module is to provide competency based training to develop skills in<br />

planning, organising, and controlling the work <strong>of</strong> operatives to effectively achieve goals.<br />

It is suitable for participants who have an established work orientation, can perform<br />

tasks under nominal supervision, and more complex tasks, involving theoretical<br />

knowledge, cognitive and motor skills with direction. It is also suitable for participants<br />

who have responsibility for others in a work unit, graduates or pr<strong>of</strong>essional staff who<br />

desire or need, but have not had, managementtraining.<br />

Aims & Objectives<br />

The purpose <strong>of</strong>this module is to provide competency based training in the establishment<br />

The aim <strong>of</strong> the module is to produce successful participants who have the skills,<br />

in a manner that will contribute to the effectiveness and efficiency <strong>of</strong>the organisation.<br />

As part <strong>of</strong> a suite <strong>of</strong> generic management skills this module is not designed for an<br />

industrial relations functional specialist butforfirst level line management.<br />

On successful completion <strong>of</strong>this module participants will be able to:<br />

Identify contemporary industrial issues that affect or could affect workplace<br />

practice.<br />
