Content<br />

This unit describes the competecies used by those working with people with<br />

disabilities. It is aimed at upholding the rights and responsibilities <strong>of</strong> people with<br />

disabilities, enhancing their ability to communicate, to be independant and to apply the<br />

organisation's philosophy, and contributing to the design and review <strong>of</strong> policies and<br />

procedures for empowerment.<br />

Content<br />

This unit describes the competencies associated with responding to the physical,<br />

medicinal. health and safety, personal care and home maintenance requirements <strong>of</strong><br />

people with disabilities. Clients will have differing support requirements and workers<br />

will manage physical contact, challenging behaviour, and the use <strong>of</strong> equipment.<br />
