Designed to provide the student with an understanding of the basic nutritional
requirements ofthe human body at various stages throughout life. These would include
neonates, infants, adolescents, adults and the elderly. The course work will contain
particular reference to diets in diseased states, and the importance of nutrition
throughout life. In addition, the module is designed to give the student skills at
recognising abnormal elimination status in a patient. The student will be given the skills
to measure, record and discuss the elimination status of patients and to assist the
patientto meetthose requirements of marna I elimination.
