Computer Business Applications<br />
Certificate<br />
This course allows the participant to train in any introductory computing<br />
application or micros<strong>of</strong>t <strong>of</strong>fice/desktop application they select - be it introductory;<br />
be it one, two or a number <strong>of</strong> applications. The composition <strong>of</strong> the program <strong>of</strong><br />
study is therefore determined by the student.<br />

Career opportunities<br />
Designed for participants who wish to train to meet current work requirements,<br />
explore future employment or be able to simply use a computer for home, <strong>of</strong>fice or<br />
business.<br />
Course duration<br />
Classes run in 3 and 4 hour blocks. Design a course <strong>of</strong> several modules or enrol in<br />
a single unit (attendance can be negotiated with your teacher if new opportunities<br />
arise).<br />
Structure<br />
Study as much or as little as you wish in a supportive and relaxed learning<br />
environment. Participants also have the opportunity to undertake flexible and<br />
workplace delivery. On completion <strong>of</strong> 100 hours <strong>of</strong> course competency you will be<br />
issued with an Institute Certificate <strong>of</strong> Completion.<br />
Participants will design and develop a program <strong>of</strong> study by electing the<br />
competencies (listed below in "Course Subjects") they wish to undertake and will<br />
be supported by a facilitator throughout their learning.<br />

(Credit Management)<br />
The Certificate III is an industry recommended pathway for persons employed as<br />
Credit Clerks/Officers, or Account Clerks/Officers and provides a fundamental<br />
understanding <strong>of</strong> the Credit Management Sector. Fifteen competencies are<br />
addressed in the course.<br />
The Certificate IV is the mandatory, industry specified pathway for persons<br />
employed as Credit Officers, Collection Officers, Team Leaders, Supervisors and<br />
Agents, providing an intermediate understanding <strong>of</strong> the Credit Management<br />
function.<br />
The Diploma is an industry recommended pathway for persons employed as Credit<br />
Managers and Credit Controllers, providing an advanced understanding <strong>of</strong> the<br />
Credit Management pr<strong>of</strong>ession.<br />
