This Unit <strong>of</strong> Competency is concerned with the provision <strong>of</strong> specialist advice to clients<br />

and others in respectto specific plants, products and treatments. This is likely to be<br />

undertaken alone or under broad guidance involving the self directed application <strong>of</strong><br />

knowledge with substantial depth in areas involving plant selection, horticultural<br />

products, and application <strong>of</strong> specific horticultural treatrnents. Competencies are<br />

normally used within routines, methods and procedures where some discretion and<br />

judgement is required in the provision <strong>of</strong> information, services, actions and achieving<br />

outcomes within time constraints.<br />
