This Unit of Competency is concerned with the provision of specialist advice to clients
and others in respectto specific plants, products and treatments. This is likely to be
undertaken alone or under broad guidance involving the self directed application of
knowledge with substantial depth in areas involving plant selection, horticultural
products, and application of specific horticultural treatrnents. Competencies are
normally used within routines, methods and procedures where some discretion and
judgement is required in the provision of information, services, actions and achieving
outcomes within time constraints.
