The aims <strong>of</strong> the module are for participants to acquire the skills, knowledge, attributes<br />

operational performance, and manage operations through the use <strong>of</strong> relevant<br />

Efficiency<br />

Aims & Objectives<br />

The purpose <strong>of</strong>this module is to provide competency based training in the identification<br />

and application <strong>of</strong>the fundamentals <strong>of</strong>financial management in the operations <strong>of</strong><br />

organisations, with the emphasis on optimising financial performance through reducing<br />

costs while improving efficiency.<br />

The aim <strong>of</strong>the module is to enable participants to successfully acquire and develop the<br />

complementary knowledge, skills and attributes and pr<strong>of</strong>essional practices associated<br />

with effective decision making in the financial management <strong>of</strong> operations.<br />

These competencies should promote and encourage the continual examiniation <strong>of</strong><br />

operations by participants in cost benifitterms, with the objective <strong>of</strong> reducing costs and<br />

performance to improve efficiency.<br />

NGMS116 Managing Finance - Operating<br />

and Capital Expenditure<br />

Aims & Objectives<br />

The purpose <strong>of</strong>this module is to provide competency based training in the identification<br />

and application <strong>of</strong>the fundamentals <strong>of</strong> financial management in the operation <strong>of</strong><br />

organisations, with the emphasis on maximising financial returns to expenditure, and<br />

investment in operating and capital assets.<br />

The aim <strong>of</strong>this module is to enable participants to successfully acquire and develop the<br />

complementary knowledge, skills and pr<strong>of</strong>essional practices associated with effective<br />

decision making, in respectto investment in both operating and capital assets to<br />

maximise financial returns.<br />

These competencies should encourage participants to regularly review expenditure on<br />

operating and capital assets in cost benefit terms, with the objective <strong>of</strong> ensuring that<br />

financial returns will be maximised in the short and long term.<br />

On successful completion <strong>of</strong> this module the participants will be able to:<br />

facilitation skills in group problem solving and decision making processes to achieve<br />

objectives. It enables participants to establish group goals and objectives, manage the<br />

goals and objectives.<br />

NGMS118 Managing People - Training and<br />

Development<br />

Aims & Objectives<br />

The purpose <strong>of</strong>this module is to provide competency based training in the identification<br />

<strong>of</strong>training needs and management <strong>of</strong>training in the workplace. The aims <strong>of</strong>the module<br />

are for participants to acquire the skills, knowledge, attributes and pr<strong>of</strong>essional<br />

practices that will enable them to identify training needs at the organisational level, and<br />

also enable them to effectively manage the training function and improve workplace<br />

competencies within their area <strong>of</strong> responsibility.<br />

The module is not designed forthe functional specialist in human resources or training<br />

but forthose with line responsibility for staff and their development. On successful<br />

completion <strong>of</strong> this module participants will be able to:<br />
