again, and your cheeks will take on their rosy hue. You will have more blood<br />

in your system, and will feel better in every possible way. The water will<br />

be used in thousands of ways by Dame Nature, among others she will use<br />

considerable of it in the work of excreting and carrying off the foul waste<br />

products of the system, of which you will be informed as we proceed. This is<br />

the first great lesson of the Water Cure—two quarts of water every day.<br />

Hot Water Drinking. There is another form of water drinking which<br />

should be mentioned here—Hot Water Drinking. This method of cleansing<br />

the stomach has become quite popular during the past few years, and<br />

formed an important part in the treatments of the original Water Cure<br />

practitioners. It acts along the lines of washing out the stomach; relaxing<br />

congested conditions there; loosening up the mucous accumulations, and<br />

dissolving them that they may be carried out of the system; and finally as a<br />

mild invigorator and stimulant.<br />

Hot Water drinks should be taken soon after arising in the morning, or, if<br />

taken during the day, care should be taken not to eat for over one-half hour<br />

afterward. About one-half pint to one pint of water is the amount—taken<br />

as hot as it can be drunk with comfort, the usual directions being: “Make it<br />

as hot as a cup of hot tea.” Hot water does not produce nausea—it is warm<br />

water that does this. There may be a little protest of the taste at first, owing<br />

to the “flatness” of the water, but this will soon be overcome, and many learn<br />

to relish the hot cupful. A pinch of salt may be added at first, if desired, in<br />

order to give a slight flavor. The water should be sipped steadily until the<br />

cup is emptied.<br />

The Hot Water Drink has been used by many people with excellent results,<br />

and thousands of cases of indigestion, dyspepsia, weak stomach, etc., have<br />

been relieved thereby.<br />

In addition to the advantages of Water Drinking recognized by the<br />

Western authorities, and which we have just stated to you, the Hindus<br />

hold that there is also a distinct and most decided therapeutic benefit<br />

obtained from the drinking of water charged with a full supply of Prana. In
