7.10.5.1 Disposition of Buildings, Material, and Stores of Captured Medical Unitsand Facilities. The material of mobile medical units of the armed forces that fall into the handsof the enemy shall be reserved for the care of wounded and sick. 265The buildings, material, and stores of fixed medical establishments of the armed forcesshall remain subject to the laws of war (e.g., they may be captured and used by the enemymilitary force 266 ), but may not be diverted from their purpose as long as they are required for thecare of wounded and sick. 267 Nevertheless, the commanders of forces in the field may make useof them, in case of urgent military necessity, provided that they make previous arrangements forthe welfare of the wounded and sick who are being cared for in them. 268The material and stores of mobile medical units and fixed medical establishments of thearmed forces that fall into the hands of the enemy shall not be intentionally destroyed. 2697.11 GROUND TRANSPORTS OF THE WOUNDED AND SICK, OR OF MEDICAL EQUIPMENTGround transports of wounded and sick, or of medical equipment, shall be respected andprotected in the same way as mobile medical units. 2707.11.1 Protection of Ground Medical Transports on the Same Basis as That of MedicalUnits.
