Although POWs are required to providefull name, rank, date of birth, and service (or equivalent) number, and POWs are required toshow their identity card upon demand, POWs are not required to inform the Detaining Power oftheir places of birth, the first name of fathers, the maiden name of mothers, or the names andaddresses of persons to be informed of capture. 7519.31.2 National POW Information Bureau.
