9.4.2.2 Notification of Offenses Punishable by Death. Information on whatoffenses are punishable by death should be communicated to the Protecting Power and thePOWs. 869.4.2.3 Location and Marking of POW Camps. The Detaining Power shouldprovide the Powers concerned useful information regarding the geographic location of POWcamps, and agreements on their markings may be reached. 879.4.2.4 Requirements for the Validity of Wills. Information on the requirementsfor the validity of wills should be communicated to the opposing party so that POWs in enemycustody may prepare valid wills. 889.4.2.5 Communication or Agreement Between the Powers Concerned on Ranks.Titles and ranks of persons entitled to POW status or treatment shall be communicated to oneanother by the parties to the conflict. 89 Ranks of persons entitled to retained personnel status ortreatment should also be communicated and agreed upon so that the senior medical officer in aPOW Camp may be determined. 909.4.2.6 Arrangements Made for POWs to Write Correspondence and ReceiveCollective Relief. Immediately upon POWs falling into its power, the Detaining Power shallinform them and the Powers on which they depend, through the Protecting Power, of themeasures taken to carry out the provisions of the Section V of the GPW, which relates to POWcorrespondence and relief shipments. 91 The Detaining Power shall likewise inform the partiesconcerned of any subsequent modifications of such measures. 929.4.3 Issue of Identification Cards to Persons Liable to Become POWs.
