operation, or hospital care, must be admitted to any institution where adequate treatment can begiven and shall receive care not inferior to that provided for the general population. 23810.14.3.2 Treatment by Medical Personnel of Their Own Nationality. Interneesshall, for preference, have the attention of medical personnel of their own nationality. 23910.14.3.3 Certificate Recording Treatment. The medical authorities of theDetaining Power shall, upon request, issue to every internee who has undergone treatment anofficial certificate showing the nature of his or her illness or injury, and the duration and natureof the treatment given. 240 A duplicate of this certificate shall be forwarded to the CentralInformation Agency for protected persons. 24110.14.3.4 Cost of Medical Treatment. Treatment, including the provision of anyapparatus necessary for the maintenance of internees in good health, particularly dentures andother artificial appliances and spectacles, shall be free of charge to the internee. 24210.14.4 Receipt of Medical Shipments. Internees may receive individual parcels andcollective shipments containing medical supplies. 243 However, medical supplies are generally tobe sent in collective shipments so that they may be properly administered by the camp doctors. 24410.14.5 Inquiry in Certain Cases of Death or Serious Injury.
